Ever wander the streets of Decentraland wishing you could express yourself a little more? Or, hit the metaverse dance scene, but feel you ought to have a little more control over those sweet moves? If the answer is yes to either question, then the new Decentraland ‘emotes’ may be the upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
Recently debuting at the Metaverse Fashion week, emotes are the answer to the age-old question, how do you express yourself in the virtual realm? To address this situation, Decentraland has introduced a set of programmable moves to add a little flair to proceedings.
Each emote represents an entirely ownable and tradable demonstration of self-expression, all controlled via the emote UI. To use one of the pre-programmed emotes, open up the console by clicking ‘B,’ then hit the number associated with it.
Delving deeper into the nuts and bolts however, users can additionally customize the UI with their own collection of expressions. Opening the UI with ‘B,’ then pressing ‘E,’ will enable users to set up the UI however they please.
For now, Decentraland has lined up a series of standard emotes to get to grips with. However, the future will see a wider range of options, along with the ability for users to design and launch their very own collections.
